A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain. For instance, a message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can get emails from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud web hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to activate the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few features, but it’s stunningly simple to work with, so creating a catch-all mailbox takes only one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have will be displayed in this section alphabetically and you’ll simply need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the respective address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either turn off the latter feature or pick a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another mouse click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be set up with several clicks of the mouse in case you have a semi-dedicated server with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered via our custom-developed Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes under any domain hosted there. To enable the catch-all functionality for a particular mailbox, you will need to click on the icon with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be achieved in the very same way and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all option has already been enabled for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning alert. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never edit or deactivate anything automatically.
